Yeah, pretty much everything's illuminated, except the door switches.

Ok, even the door switches. Not sure why I thought they weren't.

No its still a problem for me. they are illuminated only when the headlights are on. (only at night)

Not when I have the daytime running lights on, or any combo of light settings. I would like them to light up when the car is on. -so its easier to see the fan buttons mainly. but also defrost rear window/mirror.

I'll post a pic later. but its one black bar over the radio, Fan controls, ac, defroster, defrost rear windwo and mirrors. (etc).

When I want to turn down the fan it takes a few seconds to see which button it is... and that is too long.

one minor thing is adding convex mirrors to the side mirrors. I did that with after market ones, but they fog (don't defrost) so I have to wipe them in the am.

The bottom line is I need to take my eyes off the road to adjust many settings. - who thinks that is a good idea....

I don't think illuminating the buttons in daylight will solve your problem.

maybe not....

after a few more months, I'll have them memorized. But its still harder than it needs to be to change the settings.

I'm guess I'm old school, dials and leavers work.

GPS only shows 2D view. Every other car manufacturer atleast has 3D view and most luxury brands also show 3D view topography.

Lexus Toyota GPS very outdated.

I've read in Hoovey's review that the '14 IS NAV is much better and has 3D graphics.

" The navigation system is no longer HDD but Micro SD. The voice commands are one of the biggest improvements IMO, and they include over 100,000 phrases. You can simply say "Play Pandora" or "Launch Bing" (assuming Enform is running on your phone). The best thing though is the One-shot address entry. Yup all you say is "Enter an address" followed by "ex. 17 Daisy Court, Danville, California" and there it is. No more "After the beep say the state name" "After the beep say the city name etc.." I was disappointed at the Multi-media display. It is 7" but there is also about two inches of black on each side of it. The screen could have been much bigger."
"Coming back to the Navigation, there are three modes for the map. Your standard North up, and car up like the 2IS, but are you ready for this?! 3D buildings!! Yes there is a 3D mode and the screen resolution is better."

I have a new Audi with a very nice nav system (Google Maps, Street View, 3D etc.) but there are a few features that the Lexus HD nav had which I miss. It sounds like the new version on the IS is nice.

Any chance they'd have a paid upgrade to our year old Nav?

I parked away from all cars in the lot and still got dented in my left rear quarter and my drivers side mirror by a stay shopping cart (730 miles) ..... Pissed off in Boston

I feel your pain. I always park as far away from all other cars.
