Tinting 2013 ES350 windows
I recently read in the ES350 owner's manual (you know the one that is 908 pages thick) that Lexus does not recommend tinting the windows. When going back to find that statement in the book I could not find it. I would like to get others opinion on tinting or not tinting the windows. Why would Lexus recommend against doing so.

^^^^No Idea But, when you live in the Valley of the Sun, tinting is a necessity, and most new car dealers tint the windows before the car goes into inventory. I, however, bought my two Lexus and Silverado without tint, and had them tinted myself. However, in the last year, I bought my wife's son a Toyota Corolla and his daughter a Kia Rio - both of those were tinted by the dealer the minute they hit the ground.

Only reason I could think of is that metallic tint might interfere with GPS or radio signal. My car came tinted. I have no idea what type but it doesn't seem to affect anything.

hmmm it depends on a state regarding tints as i recall, personally on my es i had 5% tints all around except for front windshield, on my new RX i have 20% read side and read windshield windows and 20% front side windows, gonna go 5%all around except for windshield by summer, just need to get used to a car. and ive never heard anythin from anybody about not doing tints cuz lexus says so

I've never heard or read anything about not tinting windows on the ES. As mentioned above be sure to select a tint (non-metallic) that won't interfere with electronics inside the car. It's easy to do a search and find out what's legal on a state by state basis.

GPS antenna is on the trunk. Not sure why that would be affected by metallic tint. AM/FM radio is a different story, though.

Ceramic tint = amazing there is a few brands out there def worth it . Superb sun protection better than regular tint in the darkest 5% ,ceramic protect same lvl in the lightest 50% and no radio interference
I used dark matter 20% rear 3 and 40% driver and passenger!
Just looks clean

This is what North Carolina law says:

My ES 350 salesman said that the car has UV radiation protection on all windows but no tinting. I don't think I'll bother tinting. Aside from that mysterious look, I'm not sure that a car that has UV protection needs the windows tinted. Write back with references that show better protection from the sun if you tint.
