I currently have a 2009 ES, and am considering replacing witih 2013 ES-350. One of the things I don't like about the 2013 exterior is that black section on the lower rear bumper where the tailpipe cutouts are located. Just wondering if anyone has tried repainting that section to match the rest of the car.

Never thought about it.....but as a new owner....in person the car appears different than the pictures. I don't notice that what you talking about, nor do I notice the front end which I wasn't crazy about when looking at the pictures before buying the car. It grows on you believe me

The surface is definitely paintable... but it is blacked-out to prevent making the rear end look enormous since the ES has a high trunk lid to begin with. I think it would look silly (photoshop prove me wrong). If it bothers you that much, you should look at the ES300h which has a different lower rear bumper.

if you are going to swap out the rear fender cover, go with the 300h
