2015 ES 350 / Remote Start / Nonexistent Car SW Upgrade
Hi All,
Just wanted to see if anyone had any issues with the remote start that seems to be standard on the 2015 ES 350 w/ Navi. I saw another thread with someone who had issues with the remote stating the battery charge was too low, which mine started doing initially, but now just says "Unable to process. Please contact your dealer.".
I took my car in and a tech showed me how to start the engine remotely from the key fob, which also failed (lights came on, but no dice). He said it was an electrical short, so had to bring it in today.
The adviser told me that the car needed a software update and they would call me once the update is released... If that's the case, I'm sure others out there are having similar issues?

Went into dealership with exact same issues Remote Start doesn't work on 2015 ES350
Same reasons in failed message low battery, can't make connection with vehicle (however can connect for lock and unlock so that's not the problem). Dealer didn't even look at the battery just said its a known problem. Why sell a car stating this is the only option for remote start when you know it doesn't work. I asked if another remote option could be installed told no, this is the only option.
When does the one year start with the "free one year trial". After they can get it to work????

Actually, there are other options for remote starters. I purchased an Audiovox unit for my car that uses the factory remote fob and the distance is more than twice as far. $350.00 installed... No smartphone access and no yearly fees.

There is a fix available for this now. There is a TSIB (service bulletin) available for the dealers that fixes the low battery issue.
