American Obsidian VS Can. Starlight Black Mica
Greetings Everyone; Are the two colours the same? i.e. just different marketing! My dealership
said they thought it was a different black, Can car has what i call a subtle silver speck
throught out the paint, The reason I ask is because in Canada, the body side mouldi
ngs are not available, was thinking of putting them on if paint is the same, i live near
US border, so not a big deal to cross over and have them put on, incidently the only
Accessory available to us at present is a block heater, how generous of Lexus!

Starlight Black Mica is a metallic paint whereas Obsidian is not. The RX in the US has Stargazer Black which might be the same metallic black as Starlight. Neither black metallic black is available on the ES in the US.

I am in Canada, My 2011 LS460 is Starlight Black Mica, color code 217. Color shown on pics can be misleading because it is hard to capture the true color by camera. To my eyes, that color is always true black. It only show light metallic sparkles under sunlight.
