How about a pic Arty?

I tried a few times, but kept bombing out. I tried the manage attachments, and download jpeg files but didn't work. What am I missing?

Default body side molding

Hello, Everyone i thought about getting the body side molding. I was after protection from door dings. However, I saw other cars with side moulding and door dings. I researched door protection devices and I bought a pair of door shocks for my lexus 300 h. I love these devices. They are thick wide and removable. I think the website is www.doorshox.com. i have used them in shopping mall and parking light and no dings do far.

Yes, they are probably very effective ... but they are also not very
esthetically appealing.

I think that item brings too much attention to the car and may cause a problem with some jealous jerk.

Default Door Moldings

Okay, I figured a work around to reduce my 4meg jpeg to fit the attachment files. As I said before, I think the side body molding breaks up the long side panel and adds an accent to the doors, but that's my taste. Again, probably not for the minimalist in the group.

Also, I think this at least provides some protection against door dings, which I can't stand. I live in an urban area that guarantees you'll get dinged . People don't care about other peoples cars or property.

I have mixed feelings about the moldings... I don't like them, nor do I dislike them. I guess I am neutral. For me, About 1/2 of vehicles in Dallas are trucks and SUVs and the molding will not provide any level of protection.

They look good......But:

I would like the moldings better if they were not quite as wide and with a thin stainless steel strip running down the center.
Better still with the S.S. strip molded in the lower or upper half of the moldings.

They look better than I would have imagined on the Nebula Grey ES (which happens to be my color as well), but they're still not for me. Still a beautiful car either way...

Now how do I remove it without ruining the paint/clearcoat? I bought one with side modling installed.

Why don't you just let the dealer remove it?

I just googled and found a way to remove it. For those of you like me, all you need is a hair dryer and string, I used thin gauge nylon guitar string. Whole process took me about 5 minutes. I liked my es300h much better without side molding but if I change my mind in future, I can always reinstall them.
