Shopping for a 2012 RX? A new 2012 on the lot or a CPO, in either case it should be a much better price.

Default 2013 Lexus ES 350

Bought a new 2013 es 350 in Houston TX for 37700$ +TTL.
MSRP 43913

Navigation
Luxury package
High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps
Blind Spot Monitor System [1]
Intuitive Parking Assist
Wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift ****
Power rear sunshade
Rain-sensing wipers
17-inch split-10-spoke alloy wheels with high gloss finish

Trunk mat, cargo net, wheel locks & rear bumper applique,Tint

Hope this is a good deal. Thanks for this forum to help me reach this deal.

My thoughts are basically if we play around different dealers in Houston and Dallas they are willing to go to this price. If someone has more patience than me maybe they could get it for 36500-37000 but I need a car and I finished this negotiation in less than 2 hours online.

Let me know if anyone needs the dealer name/contact.

That was $1600 under the KBB Fair Purchase Price for our region, $4,838 under MSRP. Seemed like a good deal to us for our area! It helped to have a price from a dealer from a less reputable city across the bay to bargain with.

Default About to buy 2013 ES300h - good price?

Hi All,
First post here. We are looking to buy a 2013 ES300h with below features
  • Luxury Package
  • BSM
  • Parking Assist
  • HID
  • Rain sensing wipers
  • Rear sunshade.
MSRP is $46800.
We are looking to buy it for 38700 + TTL = $42500 in central NJ.
Does it seem like a good price or we can do better with another dealer in the North East region.
Thanks!

I based that price on what David was able to get (post #423 above). His MSRP seems very close (within $100) to what I am seeing for the options I mentioned.
Not sure if the prices in CT are much different from NJ.

I think it depends on the region you're in. If you're in CA for example where hybrids are a hot selling item, it might be harder to get that deal. However since you're in NJ I'm not sure if hybrids are hot sellers making the prices harder to bid or slow moving items making the price lower. It's possible he might have mistyped since "3" and "6" are close on the numeric keypad.

That sounds like an outstanding deal! More details please? Which dealer was this?

Did you finance or pay cash?

But on the flip side, higher volume markets also means the dealer has to compete against more dealers and therefore, better deals for the consumer?

I know the auto market in Cali is bigger than in most states and, in my experience, most cars (not just hybrids) are cheaper in Cali due to the volume of their auto market.

Would be great if David could chime in. Atleast one NJ dealer I spoke to today did not take the $42.5K OTD offer. Probably worth driving to CT for that price

I think NY suburbs have a healthy auto market (may not be as good as Cali) but when it comes to hybrids, all I see are priuses and some rare sightings of Tesla

Talking 2014 ES300H - Black Friday purchase

Long time forum watcher ... now a contributor with purchase details. See below.

Armed with valuable knowledge from this thread, I hit my local Lexus dealer this past Black Friday in search of a deal on a leftover, 2013 ES300H. Online inventory said the dealer had 10 of the 2013's, only to learn he had no ES300H's left. We started talking 2014's and here's where the deal got made:

2014 ES300H
MSRP $46,585
Starfire Pearl w/ tan
Selling price negotiated to $42K even (plus tax, dealer proc fee and tag transfer)
* price include free tint (~$300 value)
* price included free body side moldings (~$200 value)

I had a trade and received $500 over KBB on that, so I see this deal as follows:

$42,000
-$500 (dealer options thrown in)
-$500 (value above KBB on trade)
==========================
$41,000 plus tax, deal proc fee & tag transfer.

About 12% off MSRP. Also got 1.9% for 60 months, which may have been available on both 2013's and 2014's...not too sure.

Deal took place in Virginia, just outside DC and I hit the door just as the dealer opened on Black Friday.

It's my 1st Lexus and I'm stoked!!!

Thanks to all who posted their buying experiences

This is what I got: 2013 ES300h silver/black with blind spot monitor, HID, power rear sunshade, luxury package, navigation, parking assist, rain sensing wiper, heated steering wheel, and mat/cargo nets/wheel locks. There were a few 2013 ES300h with pretty much everything listed except nav @ $37400 in NJ.

Thanks David!
Looks like those are the most popular options found on ES 300h. All the dealers I spoke to had the same options installed on the ES.

Surprisingly the pre-collision system doesn't seem to be easily available unless you custom order it. Would have loved the dynamic cruise control.

Could you please share the dealer info?
