Pricing Thread - Deals you are getting?

For folks here and on Edmunds who are skeptical of pricing, consider that in SoCal, we enjoy keen competition because of the number of dealerships working against each other. If you are an informed buyer and know how to use the Internet, you will get good pricing if you work your deal properly.

Mikey I've shorten the quote to the relevant part. So all in all $39400 Sale Price + 7.5% Sales Tax + License/Doc = $43ish OTD? Thanks a GREAT deal!
Im pretty sure they had a handful of 2013's left on the lot, just not sure if there were any in starfire pearl. Spending the time on emailing dealers by internet and telling them to beat other dealerships current quotrle before ttl helps a lot. I spent all morning one day emailing lexus dealers from up north and down south. a few of them said no way they can match or beat that price of 39400. Most were giving me their "bottom# of avout 41500 or so. Most local dealers want to keep your business locally.

That's correct. $42,847 OTD. Doc fees were $80, license fees $406 license fee and $2961 tax. We financed 38k. We'll also put another 1k or so towards the balance once we sell her equinox.

For those posting that invoice price is 90 - 91% of sticker does that calculation include destination charge? Also is it safe to say that 90 - 91% is a good reference to use for all lexus vehicles across the line up?

But it is easy to check for yourself for any model by just going to Edmunds.com, selecting the car you are interested in, and choosing the "build your own" option. Then you can do a few quick calculations to determine the percent for the car and the percent for options. You can also check to see if the percent for options is the same for all options. For the ES, for example, it stays the same for all options, but for the GS, some options have a bigger markup.
No, those percents do not include the destination charge. To get the most accurate guess, you would apply the appropriate percent to the sticker price for the vehicle and options and, then, add the full destination charge. If you apply the percent to the full sticker price, including the destination charge, that will cause your result to be about $80 too high.

Well everyone I started a spreadsheet to track all these deals people are getting. This should help rather than searching thru many many posts.

Thats a good idea. Dont forget I talked them into adding the spoiler for free since they matched a deal I had from down south. That should really make the total msrp $319 more for the car I got.

No, it won't necessarily be the same from model to model. Nor will it necessarily be the same from year to year. I just did a quick check, and, for the 2014 ES, the invoice seems to be closer to 92% of MSRP, while, for the 2013 ES, it was closer to 91%. For a 2014 GS or LS, it is about 92%, but for a 2014 RX, it is about 93%.

One more learning for all Northwest buyers. There are 2-3 dealers in Seattle area but only 1 in Portland and 1 in Eugene. It helps to price-compare across them. I was ready to drive to Seattle if I was saving ~300-400$ and told so to Seattle dealers. They got back and agreed but the Portland dealers matched the same. In the end the final delta was about 300$ (Seattle dealer was cheaper) but that would mean me taking a day off work on the 31st (both were end of month deals) so I decided against it and stuck with Portland dealers. If 31st was on a weekend day, I might have driven to Seattle.
Just an FYI for all Lexus buyers in this area.

These prices are for 300h and resulted in a discount off MSRP of approx. $3,000.

I'll add my deal to the discussion, so I just closed a deal on a fire agate pearl 2014 ES 350 with black leather interior. The MSRP is $41,502 and we closed the deal at $36,998. i could have done a little better, but they are shipping it to me, which worked against me some.
