Default ES300h Gas mileage

As I wait for a fully loaded ultra luxury ES300h I thought it would be nice to see what gas mileage some of you lucky owners are getting. I will be trading in my HS250h premium with tech package. I get 36 to 37 mpg around town and 39 to 42 on the highway at 75 mph up and down hills on route 81drivivg from GA to PA in my HS. I figure the new ES will do even better based on my driving.

My first full tank ended up getting me 32mpg. Im guessing it will improve as i learn to drive a hybrid differently.

There's a couple of people on here that need to fill their garage! Incl. model, too, please. Don't need confusion.

Here's a pic of my dash AVERAGE MPG readout on 8/22 when I had driven my ESh for 6 days.

When I took that pic, I had driven about 150 miles since I bought the car 6 days ago...all in town. It's a fuzzy pic, but shows 41.5 mpg.

That MPG is with the car set on NORMAL (not ECO), and as this is my 3rd hybrid (owned a Camry Hybrid, a Prius, and most recently, an HS250h), I am very easy with the pedals to achieve that mileage. I live in hilly country, so I coast a lot too.

Today is the 14th day I have driven. Same gauge shows 42.2 today. I'm really happy!

Wow, that is great. For me, traveling back and forth to work, about 55 miles. I havent been able to break above 36mpg. Even with the lightest of pedal in eco mode. Btw, 60% highway/40% city. Do you have any tips that could help. Or maybe it is limited to the terrain i am driving, not sure.

Thanks
Mike

All my driving has been in NORMAL mode, and only in town. [See updated pic I just took]

I haven't even tried ECO yet on the ESh. Reason: I never cared for ECO mode in my previous HS250, because if I really needed instant passing power or the ability to get out the way of some situation in traffic, ECO had a hesitancy about it that really bothered me. I want the power on tap at all times (and WOW, this ESh has GOT IT -- if you need it). Although I haven't tried it, the POWER mode on this car is probably mind-blowing (and gas-sucking).

In the meantime, it's wonderful to get this kind of mileage without having to drive a loud, uncomfortable plastic-y Prius (which I have also owned). For me, driving a Prius was like wearing orthopedic shoes.

Computer reported 41.3 MPG after 525 miles.

Filled up with 13.2 Gallons giving an actual 39.8 MPG

I've owned a Prius and an Edsel HS250h where the computer was typically optimistic by 2 MPG.

Mostly driven in ECO mode including a trip over the cascades in Washington State from Seattle to Leavenworth with my visiting parents in tow, air con was on. The top at Stevens Pass is 4100 ft.

Most of these miles were driven for economy. After filling up, the Cruise Range reported 667 miles.

Oh, and on regular gas

Here's to your great MPG! And having just traded one in, a second toast goes to your hilarious but accurate naming of the "Edsel HS250h".

Hope you don't mind if I use that from now on; I'll always give attribution to you.

I've seen an average of 37.5. I'm about 60% highway, 40% city. 1050 miles on the car and I have only filled up once. (Need to again soon.) 99% in ECO mode. First time hybrid owner, so I anticipate once I learn to drive it like I should, I'm guessing the 40/39 advertised will be more like it.

Curious about the rest of you!

Loving this car so far!

I have only filled up once. Got about 35. I am also a first time Hyrid owner, so I anticpate improving the fuel economy as I change how I drive. 2nd tank of gas the computer has me around 40.4. Pretty much all city driving.

Average of about 38 mpg - but have seen as high as 42 with careful highway driving.

Is there a view that shows the current MPG from start of drive? Currently I see MPG since last refuel and overall MPG.

Thanks

I haven't found it. I did have that in my MBZ. What I do is reset every morning when I leave the house.
