Default 200002 miles

So, this happened in my 2007 tonight. I was in traffic so I couldn't take the pic at 200,000, but I did catch it. I'm the original owner.

That's a good number. Probably one of the heighest in USA.

Any problems with it? Are you the original owner?

Nice! Also curious about any repairs needed and your maintenance?

Have you guys ever changed the ATF in your cars?

I am the original owner. I do my own brakes, filters, oil changes, headlamps, etc. I also changed my AT fluid at 105,000 miles or so, but am not sure if I'll do that again. It did make my transmission flair worse (!), though not enough to make the car undriveable. I've only used Mobil One changed every 5k and after the first 6 months I've only used 87 octane gasoline.

That said, this has been the most trouble-free car I've ever owned. The only real failure was a coil pack that went somewhere around 140k that I fixed on the road at O'Rielly's in about 10 minutes. I've replaced tires, batteries, plugs, flushed the coolant twice, had a mirror go bad under warranty, oh, and my water pump went out around 150k miles or so. I replaced my rotors once. The drive train has been solid.

After 10+ years there are bugs. My mirrors don't always reset to their memory position, and my rear sunscreen doesn't deploy. I'd like to fix that but the cost is outrageous and it's a lot of work to get to. The windshield is fairly pitted and I hate, hate, hate the fogged-over headlight covers. I haven't yet read about a solution to that that is effective long-term.

Overall, a great car that I'm very happy with.

I am watching a headlight restoration video right now.

After lots of sanding the final step is to paint the headlight with a UV resistant clear coat.

Nice job keeping your car up. Did your water pump give some symptoms before it went out? (such as leak, strange noise?).
I barely drive so my 08' car just hit 102,000 miles. Putnam Lexus said there was some pink crust found around water pump and quoted me $1,200 which sounds pretty high. Mine still drives very smoothly. No leak, coolant level never drops. No strange noise yet.

There was no previous warning when mine went out on the interstate. Suddenly, my engine temperature started to rise. I put the heat on full and limped back home, watching the gauge and coasting a lot. When the engine finally cooled down enough for me to check I was extremely low on coolant. That's when I saw a lot of fresh coolant around the water pump and I knew it had died. The $1,200 cost sounds about right, though I have a relative who works at Lexus and I had the work done at a far lower cost. 🙂

Thanks. Look like I only need to worry when there is some leak.

I always carry a can of coolant in the trunk these days. Hope it won't get steamed. I want to defer another 20K miles (equiv. to about 4 years).
