Default 2007 ES 350 Water pump issue

Another question for all you helpful folks on my 2007 ES 350...

When in for service, lexus told me the "Water Pump bearing worn out"... quoted me $1k for labor and parts to replace the water pump.

Has anyone experienced this problem, and is there less expensive resolution? They said continuing to drive with this issue will damage engine as there is leaks.

Thanks as always
Jason

It's a common problem with these water pumps. They're an absolute pain to replace. Go to an independent shop and have them install a new OEM pump.

See my previous post on this. You basically want to replace a bunch of other parts at the same time.
