what is it that tells the car to turn the heat on or keep it cool ?

i have been looking online on rockauto where i usuallly buy parts just to see what the heater control valve looks like however i can't even find a part that has that name
does it go by another name by chance ?

all those words next to the pictures and the erros just confuse me i do better with just written words on what to do so i have to spend some time here converting these i think.
