Brake Fluid Flush?
While getting my oil changed today (2008 - 43k miles) the guy came out and said it was a Lexus recommendation that the brake fluid be flushed at 30k miles. He did not show me a tester indicating that it needed to be changed though.
At first he quoted $130 but when I resisted he dropped to $100 before finally offering me $80 when he could see I was still not going for it.
I guess I have three questions;
1. Does it need to be done just due to my milage.
2. I know they have testers but don't really want to buy one, will AutoZone test this for me?
3. Is that a good price?
TIA.

Brake fluid gets bad due to age more than miles driven. I've had mine flushed twice (2008, bought in 2011) and I've put on 60k since then (105k total). It gains water over time and that lowers the boiling point. If it boils, that's a bad thing....

I agree with mlacomb.
Do it, but use DOT 5.1 fluid.

Did first brake fluid flush at 182K. While I agree it should have been done earlier, we have never experienced any brake problems. Did flush myself; only needed a 32oz bottle.
