Default Should i switch to 225 size tire?

I know lots of people have posted about this but i didnt got what i was looking for. I have 2007 es350. Just for the look of a little wide tire i wana switch to 225 55 17. But i have read somewhere that they look too big. I am going with Michelin MXM4. Does they look too big? Any problems if i switch to this side? Or should i stick with the original size? Basically i am happy with height of the tire. Just wana increase the width a bit without effecting suspension or filling up the tire space.

I am also getting little noise from behind my car when i am over 120kmph but i think its because the tires are bad. I had mxv before.

I just installed a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires on my 08' ES 350. The size are 225-50-17. I had bought these tires for 02' Maxima a couple months before I decided to get rid of her and bought the ES. I did some research on the size difference and it only made a -1.5% difference on the speedo (100km/h on the speedo= 98.5km/h actual). So I kept them and just installed them this spring. I have no regrets! Extremely quiet, smooth and great handling/traction.

With your size difference, you'll have a +1.65% difference in speed. Not sure how the increase in tire size will fair in the wheel well and all other components around it.

Fat tires are better IMO. I'm going from OEM 20s to forged alloy 17s.

That's a difference of 4.8% in diameter (which means odometer registers a few percent less miles than actual) and 41.1% in sidewall! Plenty of people have run this tire setup on ih8mud for years with no problems on 4wd vehicles.

On my 4ES, it rides a lot smoother and handles potholes much better with 60 profile tires.

^^ thanx.. i got Primacy mxm4 215 55 r17 v94. I really did a lot of research and left with 2 options . One was 235 50 r17. It was the best if you need wide tires on OEM rims. As it was closest to the original diameter. 0.1% .
Michelin dont make mxm4 in 235 50 size so i went with 215 55. So far i drove about 2000 km . Really love them. Had mxv4 before. They were worn but new ones have less body roll as compared to the old ones. And the mileage i am getting is 6.9- 7.5l/100km on highway. That is really impressive. I got my car (2007 es350) just one month ago and so far i am loving it. It is without navi. And i have just one problem that is when i bought the car driver seat used to slide back i think (easy exit). It doesnt do it now. Steering wheel do move up. Any one know if the seat was supposed to slide back? It do move on my 2010 rx350.
