Default driver's side air conditioner NOT cooling

hey

so i just bought my lexus es350 2007 and I just realized that my driver's side doesn't blow cold air unlike the passenger's side i tried to google it and then i believe as i read on here its the blender door. thing is i am a student and i don't have that cash to fix it at the dealership so I'm trying to find a way to know what is the problem and how to fix it. or if anyone can tell me where to find an A/C professional in Arizona

I had the same problem in my 1992 SC300. I thought it was a blend door problem at first, until I had the mechanic check the amount of refrigerant in it. Sure enough it was low, he found the leak, converted it to new style 134a refrigerant and its been good ever since. I think it was around $250-300 he charged me for that.

I'd say it is not a blend door problem if the a/c controls blow out of the correct selected vents, and you can switch between hot and cold(or just kind of cold in your case) air in each vent setting.

I can confirm that I had this issue where it wasn't cool. After lots of research I read about low coolant. I went to my local auto store and bought a charging canister and refilled my car and voila, it was all good.

Please remember NOT to overfill as it will cause you more problems. The good kits have a gauge that lets you to stay within the guidelines.

I have the same problem reported in the quote above. I just had the AC recharged a couple months ago. I will ask the mechanic, who seemed like a straight up guy, and has 4.5 stars in Yelp on 16 reviews, to check that first. If it needs a charge again, then there must be a leak. Any other suggestions here? I asked him for a general cost idea and he came back with a $1k est for servos.
