Default Airbag Recall Incoming?

Just a heads-up, it appears our 5th generation ES will now be included in the Takata airbags recall as per Lexus Owners website. I haven't seen any articles about this yet, it appears to have been released on May 23rd a few days ago, and hasn't yet gotten a number by the NHTSA. I expect we'll be seeing something about this in the near future.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to getting a free tank of gas! haha

From what I read, there also appears to be "regional considerations".
In other words, areas of higher heat, humidity, and temp fluctuations would cause faster degradation of the airbag material in question (ammonium nitrate)

I recall country was broken up into 3 distinctive regions.
I think down in lower half of country was fastest degradation.
Then our area (NJ) was middle.
Up northern pasts of US were last.

As such, I think they are going to key on "older models" in Southern areas first as those would have degraded faster.

In any case, will have to wait for the "letter from lexus" anyway.

Does anyone have concerns about the drivers airbag? What are the chances that two completely different bags, made at different times went into the same car. Is there that much difference in the construction and materials of the opposing bags? Would they degrade at different speeds? Honda has issued NO drives and picked their cars up.
I was told when this all started that my car was not affected, Emphatically. Repeatedly. And now this.
How come Honda is dealing with their recall so differently?

I received the letter notice seems like a month ago and to wait for further instruction. It also recommended no one in the passenger seat .
How long do they think you can get away with out driving anyone?
Personally, I think that's just a cya clause.
I'm in the dirty south and haven't heard anything since.
