Bad water pump.
My2007 ES 350 V6 water pump is starting to leak. Dealer wants about $800. I am pretty good with a wrench, but a maintenance manual says to change the pump you have to pull the engine and transaxe. Is there anyone here that has an easier way?? I really don't have the time or equipment to pull the engine. I can get a brand new pump for less than $100. Any help is really appreciated.

Yeah. That guy was obviously pretty handy with a wrench if he can complete the procedure (and I know I couldn't) and described it as a 14 hour nightmare. And I also got a quote for around $800 from my local toyota dealer for water pump replacement along with the fan belt. I'm getting mine done on Monday.

I know I can do it faster but when I work on this car I want to inspect and double check every part and that takes time. This is realy complex thing I wouldn't let anybody do this for me.

You don't have to pull the engine. Its pretty simple. I've done a bunch of them though. Ill have it done in in little under 2 hours. If you're not mechanically inclined, I would recommend you have someone do it for you.
