I'm only getting 400KM (248miles) per tank here, not sure why its so low. or maybe this is average. 2008 es350
what are you guys getting?
also, what the hell is the difference between ''tank average'' and the other ''average''???

As I understand it tank average is the mileage you are getting on the tank of gas provided you reset the trip mileage at fill up. The average mileage is the overall mileage that the car has beginning when it was new. The will be different based on how you drive. My overall mileage is a little over 26 mpg while at times my tank average will run at 30 . So I would get around 350 miles on average but because I refill before it gets to low I don't gain the extra range. A few times during the summer months while on a long trip I would fill at around 400 miles but that was down to around 1/16th of a tank left. That's a little risky in the winter. Also my winter mileage drops a few mpg due to the winter fuel blend.

Around 650 km.

is that an actual measured consumption or reliance on the display "averages". the display numbers need to be reset occasionally to bring them in line with reality

11.9 is not that bad. The tank sucks in around 70 liters, and with 12 l/100 km you should go 600 km but still I think you can go more.
My lowest fuel consumption (all open road):
I would check for vacuum leaks, bad O2, bad spark plugs...

My last one was awful at 399.1 km (248 miles) on a tank = 14.4L/100km (16.4 mpg)
My best one was 712.7 km (442.8 miles) on a tank = 7.5L/100km (31.6 mpg)
My average is 480.7 km (298.7 miles) on a tank = 10.2L/100km (23 mpg)
I don't always wait until the tank is nearly empty. I do keep a very close eye on my fuel economy. Spotted a bad O2 on my Mazda right away because of that.

If you're getting 11.9 L/100km, then you're doing about average especially for Ontario. How much fuel do you actually put in? The fuel tank holds 70 litres. I usually fill only about 55 litres, but my low fuel warning light is usually on at that point. Means I still could have driven for quite some time. Lexus gives you a lot of warning before you're actually on empty.

Oh, and the 712 km I got was on the highway in South Dakota. Amazing roads and great quality of fuel contributed to the good numbers. Are you putting in premium fuel? If not, that's likely why you're getting the poor mileage. For 2007-2010 Lexus recommends premium.
