Yes, I can buy only the strainer and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

It has 125,551 miles.
You can just change the filter and strainer (pre-filter), which I will do in the future. But since I was having issues, and I was already in there, I went ahead and changed the pump while I was at it.

I would change the filter as well if you are going to do that. The strainer is just like a pre-filter.

Now I see, there is the strainer and the filter.

Strainer: 23217-0C010 and the clip: 23219-03010

Fuel filter: 23300-21010

I would have to wait since they (the dealer) don't have them on stock and I will post a DIY.

I forgot to mention, don't forget to get a new fuel pump tank seal (just a big o-ring).

I think it is recommended to replace when you pull the pump out. Mine was the original and it was hard and deformed compared to the new one. I would not have reused.

Rubberized and plastic seals like these tend to wear due to age not use. As it ages it will harden and not be as effective. If you are going through the trouble of removing the pump you might as well have a fresh o-ring ready just in case the old one won't seal properly again.

I am confident to report that my problem is solved. I have driven the car the past few days and had opportunity to thoroughly check out the fix. It responds immediately without any hesitation or misses.

One side benefit that I am keeping an eye on is my fuel economy. I had posted it about it here
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...l-economy.html when this cut-out problem was first noticed.

After filling up and driving for a few days, I have noticed that the tank average is around 3mpg higher than it has been in quite some time. I drive the same route at the same time week after week, so if I get through this tank with a much better average, I will be thrilled. Time will tell, but I am cautiously optimistic based on what I am seeing so far.

Mine is 26,3 MPG average since december, 50/50 highway/city. I will report my fc after I change the filters.

I know this thread is old but the 'it wont get over 4000 rpm issue" i had today was brought to you by a kinked fuel line from the filter to the rail. So i would say if you have the issue where it wont get over a certain RPM at full throttle, with no CEL (Check Engine Light)... fuel system would be my first guess if you've already cleaned the MAF.
