Upgraded from 1998 ES300 to 2007 ES350...WOW
Sold my 1998 because I couldn't keep with the leaks. I skipped the ES330 generation because I didn't want to deal with the transmission issues that are well known. Bought a 2007 ES350 w/premium Plus package for $13K. Did I do good? LOL.
As far as I am corned I don't need anything newer. This car gives me everything I wanted. Now if I can just figure out how to enable voice commands with the NAV. Very please.

I can't disagree with that, they are terrible. That being said there are times when you have no better option for input (such as when the car is in motion) and for those times it is worthwhile to learn the basic commands such as for address input. As far as climate control, aside from wondering who would rather attempt that than just pushing the button there is also the issue of some 2007 ES350s not responding to climate commands if they have not been initialized each time the car is turned on.

I bought a 2007 ES350 and agree the voice recognition was terrible. I then bought a refreshed 2010 with the new HD nav system and supposedly improved VR. No dice. Still not very good. I'm assuming/hoping the new gen is really improved.

I went from a 00 ES to an 07 (now I'm in an 09) and it blew my mind too. Took me several months to figure out what felt like a Knight Rider setup lol. The ride wasn't quite as soft, the stereo wasn't quite as good, but overall it was a big jump. Due to accidents I'm now on my 3rd ES 350. Love it.
Also the power balanced with fuel economy still impresses me to this day.

How many miles did it have that you bought it for 13? I have a 97 es300 and close to 200k in miles and knock on wood its been great to me but little things are starting to break down and don't think its worth fixing...I've maintained it well but looking to get into a 2008 es350 but prefer a 2010 or else I might keep my 2010 tsx...still trying to decide...only plus so far that the Acura has is the rest seats fold and it has xm radio...
