Default My ES saved my life today

Owner of 2 ES350s so far. My first got rear ended at highway speeds by a Cherokee and although it was totalled, my girlfriend and I walked away without a scratch.

I bought my 2nd 16 days ago. On the way home from work today on the interstate, I was plowed into by a semi at highway speed. I'm a little stiff on this one but man am I glad to be alive. The pictures are unbelievable. I'd post them here but I don't know how to.

I'm also looking to buy another if anyone in the area has a well maintained one. The safety rating on this model should be 10/10!

Glad you survived. The car is very reliable as a big sedan should be. I had several volvos for reliability reasons too.

Unbelievable accident just driving home from work. Tractor trailer didn't stop for stopped traffic. I had just traded in an 09 accord and I doubt I would have lived through it if I were still driving it. I just picked up an 09 ES and I'm still very much appreciating the safety it offers

So no joke, the car saved my life.

Thanks for all the love guys. In related news, I'm realizing it would have been better to take over or pick up a brand new lease instead of getting the 09 I just purchased. Bummer! But insurance companies usually rush you out of the rental as soon as the vehicle is paid for. Lesson learned I guess.

Wow-- glad you're safe . . . go to church . . .buy a lottery ticket.

What did the driver of the Chief Express rig have to say? (Assume that was what hit you)

The driver of the Chief Express rig got out of his car and looked at the damage on his truck while I was trapped in my car (driver's side door wouldn't open, passenger side was on the hill side). Never came to check on me or let me out of the vehicle. And their wonderful insurance company, Carolina Casualty, has yet to return my phone call. The state trooper informed me that the driver was taking zero responsibility for the accident.

The police report listed my vehicle as "V8" because I was driving one of 8 vehicles that the guy hit.

Sounds like it's time to go to a lawyer. Put the guy out of his job and make the insurance company pay for their lack of responsibility.
