Default Mechanic took my es350 for a weekend drive?

Got my 07 es350 back from local mechanic and it's had changed maps region on car navigation and every previous destination deleted. Can it happen from nav being disconnected from battery? It still remembered my home, the phone book and had time set?

It's quite possible that it deleted with the battery disconnected. I can't tell 100%, but I do know that when I put in a new battery in my lexus, it was only out for about 5 minutes, my contacts were still there. I don't store destinations, so I couldn't tell, but I did have to tell it my home again. He may have done that for you being he knows your address from the maintenance records.

Not sure about your mechanic, but every time I take my car in for anything, the first thing they do is write down the mileage. Mainly so they know what service might be needed. If you don't know how many miles is on your car when you take it in; at least a close ball park; then that's something you may want to start knowing in the future. Pretty difficult to change GPS regions without driving quite a distance. I'd notice that on my odometer.

All i can contribute to this is that when the battery is disconnected the previous destinations, radio stations, and the region is reset to the east coast.

It is possible most of these were replaced as he wrote them down and did it for you out of convenience.
I would guess that this is the case. However, I have heard of shady shops taking their customers cars out for the weekend... Best way to guard against this would be to keep track of mileage.
