'07 ES350 sunroof makes a thud when initially opening...Sounds like its actually dropping down fast and hitting bottom. Occurred once prior and dealer said they cleaned the track. Does this make sense to anyone? If so, how do I clean the track?

If the issue was brought up to dealer while still under warranty you could always just go back. Depending on your dealer and if it was previously documented they would more than likely help you out with the issue.

The track is mostly lubed with grease. I would advise against doing anything to it unless you see an obstruction or object in the track.

Good idea...I'll try that path first

my sun roof would do it on occasion, I just open and close it a few times and it's back to normal. it usually do it if I've not used the sun roof in a few weeks

I realized that the rubber seals were sticking and causing this issue. I cleaned and put rubber silicone protectant on the rubber and it's working perfectly

My 15 Es have same issue, dealer said it was normal, but I don't have a chance to check others, how is your problem now ?

Could also very well be the screws attaching the bracket to the actual moonroof.

Pull the accordion rubber guards off and youll see the screws connecting the moonroof to the bracket. Check them with a screwdriver to make sure theyre tight.
