Aux Port Convert to USB Port
Hi everyone!!
So i just bought 09 ES350 and saw that my aux port is mess up cause of the last owner effing jam something in there. I call lexus to see how much is to replace the part and they ask for 150$ and I'm thinking about buying it, but before i do that I was seeing if there was a USB port out there where i can replace my AUX port.

Keep in mind, USB and AUX are two different things. USB doesn't carry analog audio, AUX is only analog audio.
What I would do is see if I could disassemble the lexus part from the console box and see if you could either repair or replace the jack itself.

150 wow ripp off
you could proably go to a junk yard yank out the aux port from another ES350 and pick it up for like 10 or 15 bucks then just splice the wires together with the old one.
or not sure how these work here but there are converters or adapters you can buy to be able to hook up usb and other thigns to your car
not sure if this is actualy any good but just found quicke search on ebay

You could always try something like this, I'm not sure if our cars have the factory wiring needed to power the USB but I'm sure something could be done to run power to it to charge phones and stuff.

one question that i always try to find out but not with much luck is if we will be able to see the actual ipod play list or fast forward or rewind skip or repeat a song with the actually steering wheel or radio controls.
If you can't then i don't see anymore worth to this than a regular Aux cable

I highly doubt anything will show up on the screen, everything will need to be controlled from your iPod.

This will you require to get it professionally installed or to learn how to take your factory nav apart.
Havn't used them in the ES but have in my other lexus models.

I am not quite sure. I have only installed them on my cars with navigation. I am pretty sure they all use the same connections and would just be plug and play but it would be best to give them a call or send them an email as they could give you the most accurate information. They are also a vendor here on CL so you can search for them in the vendors section.
Here is their contact information

For about the same price, you can replace the entire head unit with one that many more features.

I also bought an '09 that someone had broke off the 3.5mm plug in the aux plug. It took about 5 minutes to remove the aux plug, dislodge the broken plug and re-install. To get to the aux plug, pull the seat heater/cooling block forward til it pops out. That will give you access to the aux plug from the back side of the storage box. You should definitely try to clear the obstruction first. With the saved money, buy a BT to aux converter that links to your smartphone and plugs into your 12V plug. Good luck.
