How do you keep the radio on when you need to turn off the engine, like in gas station? When I turned off the engine while parked for gas, the radio was also turned off.

try leaving it in neutral instead of putting it in park. this is how it is done on the 2013s, so i imagine the previous gen would most likely be the same.

The OP is from NJ where self service gas stations are illegal, so I assume he is remaining in the car with his foot on the brake or has the emergency brake on.

Just push the starter button. If you don't have your foot on the brake and the car is in park the accessories will come on. Now, this won't keep it on once you turn the engine off but it will restart it for you while the engine is off. Merry Christmas to all.

One added note...once the engine is turned off you can put the transmission into Park. Best not to leave in it neutral, else it could roll away...the car not just the transmission.
