Default Recommended oil and filter

I am going to start doing my own oil changes in my 2010 ES350. Any recommendations on oil and filter? Currently have about 31K miles.

The OEM filters are very good. Toyota sells cheaper than Lexus for the same filter.

Any oil will do. They're that good now. I use Mobil 1.

I bought a 10-pack of Toyota OEM filters on eBay for $39 shipped. I also use Mobil 1.

Do some internet research and you'll find Fram filters to be very poor quality. I recommend ORN Toyota.

Toyota filters and any 5W-30 dino oil will do. Nothing special about the engine. I change it every 5000 miles but I only have 22,000 miles on the car. Oil is still clear after 5000 miles.

i stopped doing my own oil and filter changes a long time ago they stopped being cost affective between my time and the amount a good filter and oil cost
i save money going to the dealer
these days almost all of them will be willing to match a competitors price

the lexus dealer down near my school offers oil changes for 24.99 special sometimes 34.99 specials the lexus dealer near me price is 55.99 i show them the other dealers price they match it

Good way to go but being retired it affords me the time to do what I want when I want to. Also having a lift in my garage makes working on my various vehicles pretty simple. As long as it doesn't interfere with my golf or fishing time all is good. Then again I still cut my own lawn and split my own firewood. Enjoy

I grab a $25 jug of Mobil 1, an extra qt to make 6 qts total, a Fram filter and head for the Walmart checkout. My dealer quotes over $100 for a Mobil 1 "service".
Jerry, good tip on the oil filter deals. I buy bulk quantites for my other vehicles but I've never considered it for my wife's car.....shame on me!

It's like cutting the lawn. When I was working I didn't like it because I didn't want to waste the time. Now it's kind of relaxing and I can do it whenever I want. Enjoy the ride.
