Default On the road & battery to fob is dead & i have no key :(

I am visiting family friends and have an issue. I have a key fob (2010 ES350) that appearantly has a dead battery. Do I pry it apart to find the dead battery and replace it? There is no Radio Shack where I am. Has anyone found them at Walmart lately?

On other related threads I see that it is a CR1632 battery, I need. The other issue is a key. I have no key but I have a little metal tag with a number on it . I guess I go to Lexus for a key or is there somewhere else?

This is one of those things I wished I'd read up on it before it happened.

Thanks for any help. Dorothy

If you have a fob that looks like the first illustration, it has a key that pulls out like illustration two.

Thanks for not calling me stupid. I just found this link (below) that shows me how to change the battery if/when I can get one. Thanks again. Dorothy

What some do, and after you pick up those you can also, is to leave a spare battery in the car, so if your fob dies you can always use the key to unlock and the change the battery, although this would've helped you more before your battery died

I also keep a pair of gloves so I don't get dirty changing a tire, ice scraper, a cheap rain poncho, big flashlight, little flashlight, can of fix-a-flat, first aid kit and extra ammo.

Always good to have lots of extra ammo.

^^^^Do you by any chance have an owner's manual It's all spelled out in there. And there have been other threads describing the procedure. In a nutshell, the cover on the drivers side door handle (the small one that's stationary) pops off, to reveal a keyhole underneath.

Just a small box from Wal-Mart. It's not like I have a miniature ammo fort in the trunk.

I only do this because most places don't allow you to carry a loaded long gun in the trunk.
