We traded a 2010 Honda Accord EXL--top of the Accord line: V6, leather, etc.--for our 2008 ES350 eighteen moths ago. Best deal we've made in a LONG time. While the Honda was OK around town, it is a terrible highway car for long road trips. Harsh ride, uncomfortable seats, lousy sound system, lots of wind & road noise, etc. Our ES is quiet, comfortable and gets better gas mileage than the Accord by at least 2-4 mpg, depending on speed. On a 500+ mile road trip, the Accord wore us out & we would arrive tired and cranky. Not so with the ES. On the exact same trip, we arrive much fresher and not worn out.

Good luck with the Accord. I'll never buy another Honda.

The new Accord is very nice, but its not going to be as comfortable or as nice riding as the ES. To be fair, the new Accord is light years better than the 2010 Accord.

Your ES was old, it was time...

I agree with both points.

All of my miles were driving around the DFW area. No long trips. We have an Explorer for those needs. Yes the Lexus is more comfortable (I always said it's like floating). The Honda you drive, the Lexus you ride. But $45K versus $29K is a big difference. For $16K I will take a few more bumps on the road.
