navigation system
Is there a setting I can change so that when the info comes over the navigation system, the radio will mute then come back on after the direction have been received

Maybe someone else will weigh in, but I don't think so. The radio mutes when Bluetooth is in use but not the nav, to my knowledge.

When I got my current ES I researched this issue and didn't come up with a solution. May have missed something though. I didn't see anything in the manual about it.

Some one else must have a 2011 ES 350. What does it do when nav comes on , what does the radio do. Stays on or mutes. There as to be a setting you can turn off in personnalize

I have a 2012 ES and I did not find any way to have the audio dim or mute while nav is talking. I think this is really dumb, and have a lot of gripes about the whole nav system in the car. My 2004 Honda Accord had a much better nav system than this car, including what you are requesting. The only thing you can do is turn up the navigation voice volume, and send it to the left (driver) speaker. I guess a plus is that you can listen to your music and navigation at the same time so long as you are not playing your music too loudly.

[QUOTE=Joeb427;7240608]I like my music pretty loud at 40+.
The system should mute when getting direction.
Actually, the NAV looks great but stinks.A $100 Garmin works so much better.
Hey whatever floats your boat but please make sure you keep your windows closed and don't expect us to pay for your hearing aids. Good luck.

My windows are always closed and the climate control in on Auto at 72.
40 isn't that loud and the ML system sounds best at that level.

Garmin makes some very good models, but at least a few of us value the larger screen of the built-in. My 65 year old eyes work much better with a larger picture, and the ability to have Lexus Enform send directions directly to the NAV is a nice (if a bit pricey) feature.

I also like the integration of the audio, climate controls and rear view camera into the system. There are some things with the nav that bug me (like the cost of map updates) but there will always be some trade offs in systems like this. None of the things that bug me are deal breakers.
