I bought one for $2100, platinum 0 deductible 8 years/100K miles.
I probably overpaid.... but considering car MSRP is 45K, it might not be that much.

its one of those things where it might pay off first time you use it. the dealer costs are insane, something simple as broken sun-roof motor can run you $1000.

yes, this is official platinum lexus warranty, accepted by any lexus dealer with 0 deductable.

Or did you get the same Lexus Platinum warranty from a Toyota dealer for 1/2 of the price?

Do a search for extended warranty. You'll find that Jerry at Midwest superstore is the best and least expensive source. I used him for the Lexus Platinum warranty. Many others have used him as well.

Just reviewed the paperwork on my purchase of 2011 ES350 extended warranty: 6 years / 70,000 miles / Platinum Warranty / $0 deductible = $730. Added to sales contract / finance at 2.9%.

I emailed Jerry but my car is outside the new car warranty (by time) so he said go to a local Lexus dealership for a used car Lexus warranty.

Does anyone know how this works? I assume they'd charge me to do an inspection 1st, but I'm wondering if I can shop the local dealers for the best price prior to doing that...

If anyone has experience with a similar situation, it'd be great to hear about it...

I thought I'd post the answer to my own question: If you buy a used Lexus that is out of the basic new car warranty from a Lexus dealer, with a few exceptions, you can buy one of the Lexus warrantys at time of purchase ONLY. Read this on the Lexus main corp. site and called a dealer to confirm.... If you buy from a non-Lexus dealer or PP (again and the car is out of basic warranty) you are SOL... oh well....

I just purchased a 2011 es350 with 48000 miles an extra 2 years above the 36/36 warranty from a Lexus dealer. He charged $1435. I think I was overcharged. Is it possible to cancel and get a refund? Purchased 12/21/12. Update: The price for the used car extended warranty was actually $1735 . I contacted Jerry and got the Lexus new car warranty for 8 years and 100,000 miles from when car was first sold for $1655
