Default Mama don't put no 37psi in those ES350 tires

Was soooo disapointed in new MXV4 Primacy tires. Tire people filled to 37psi [same as I did in my '04 es330 to stiffen up the ride and handeling]
The rebound out of a minor road dips was like a bucking horse. Checked psi and was 37. Lowered to recommended 30 and ride/handeling is perfect, in my opinion.

Same here. And I always forget to ask them why they do it and to tell them not to do it on my car. Maybe one of these times I'll remember!

My new one had 37 psi including spare. Adjusted to 32 psi for tires on car and 35 psi for the spare.

The reason the dealer pumps them up to close to 40psi is because Lexus tells us to. I won't go into the formula here but a car coming in with hot tires is supposed to be aired up to 39-40psi to compensate for when it sits overnight and the tires cool down. After this overnight cool down the tire light will come on if the pressure is set too low. This leads to a lot of come backs.

I'm a little less lazy with the cars I work on and apply the formula to the tire placard on that car as not all are the same. For instance a GS is usually 33psi, while an IS might be 35 front and 38 rear. Most techs just use the same number for everything.

For those that purchased a brand new Lexus and found the COLD TIRE PRESSURE to be too high then they were not correctly set during the Pre-Delivery Inspection. Of course if your checking the pressure after driving then the tire will be hot and the results skewed.
