You know what, I never ended up pulling the trigger, and now it is winter time. I would probably buy some regular silicone you can get at any hardware shop. Just try to minimize the hole you cut and you should be fine.

I may still do it come summer, but I have become accustomed to the stock stereo, it isn't that bad. I still have concerns about rattle and hearing loss if I go with an aftermarket sub.

I just installed mine yesterday and it's absolutely amazing. Although, I'm still in the honeymoon phase of actually having some bass in my car

I ended up going to advanced auto and asking the guy there what I should use. He gave me a tube of black silicone sealant that was only 5 bucks. I put it all around the point last night and I'll do it again tonight just to be sure I have all cracks covered.

I'm going to post about my experience in the other thread I created later if you're interested. It was definitely an experience as I did all the installing myself but relied on my friends to help over the phone when I got stuck !

Did you miss the post above? "no additional sealant necessary" I've never used additional sealant on a car and never had a leak. And that includes my Honda CRX back in college. I even had a night of fraternity fun in the woods where I attempted to cross a large mud hole while the guys in the 4WDs were busy locking their hubs. A wave of muddy water went over the hood, up the windshield and down the back hatch. The passthrough hole did not leak. Just don't cut it to big. You are forcing the hole open with a screw driver and really squeezing the power cable as it comes into the cabin. The lube is a good idea but not necessary. One person pulls on the inside and another feeds the cable from the outside.

Been going back over your thread (and the SICK350 mod thread) as I think I'm ready to replace the head unit, but have some questions regarding the aftermarket kit that is available.

The one from http://www.ebay.com/itm/291039588184?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT has 5 pieces while the one from http://www.ebay.com/itm/361312041223?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT only has 3?

I see where both of you were not able to use the trim piece with the particular units you went with but am curious if the other piece that looks like a bracket is indeed necessary?

TIA!

When everything was completed did your steering wheel display button work for the infotainment screen in dash?
