Hindering keyless entry car theft
I have done some superficial research regarding blockage of the RFID signal. It looks like wrapping the fob in aluminum foil severely shortens the distance the hacker has to be in range to intercept the signal. I also store my purse in a box at night as my vehicle has been opened at least twice. I believe it was also driven. The thief needs to be within 26 ft of your fob. Scary!

Aggressively Trying to Take My Car!
Someone screeched up to my car parked curbside last nite. I saw an electrical impulse cast over the whole car. They did it twice. Then left. It took all of 2 seconds. 1001,1002. Thankfully, I had manually locked my car and my fob is wrapped in aluminum. It was quite sci-fi in appearance.

I'm sorry but I am having a hard time buying into these threads. My experience limited as it may be has been that if someone wants to take a car they just take it without beaming it up to the mothership or anything like that.

Since I wrapped my head in aluminum, I don't worry about anything anymore.
Okay, back to our regularly-scheduled program. Read this:

Conclusion: today's RKE rolling-code systems are practically impervious to hacking. A thief with the resources and patience to emulate your code would in all likelihood just lift your car.

I agree with bobsobi about the head wrapped in aluminum. People forget to lock the car all the time and insurance scams run rampant ! Oh and the black jets are watching you !

That's great if you don't get your car back all torn up. Most people do get it back needing repair work. I used to own a Fiero and it got stolen. I was hoping I could buy a new car but the police found it all torn up. Paid my deductible and 2 months later got it back from the auto body shop, never to be the same again.

If you are really worried about this you are better off getting a gps tracker.
My Escort Entourage CIS unit texts me if someone tries to enter my car, and automatically starts GPS tracking if the car is opened or driven by anyone other than me.

There was a comment here about manually locking your vehicle. If you push the inside door lever to lock all the doors BEFORE exiting and then close that door will that give you any better protection from car theft?
