Default Replacing CD/Radio unit with LCD/Touchscreen/Android compatible device

Hi,

Unfortunately, my car does not have the Luxury package so there is only CD/radio unit. Has anybody replaced the unit with a touchscreen set?

If so, any recommendations for a shop around detroit area (I'm willing to drive up to 150 miles)

Thanks

I had teh same problem but chose to do it the cheap way using a vent mount for my phone ($4 on Amazon), and a Bluetooth car kit (SoundBot 360, $15 on Amazon).

This way you get nav/audio/music controls/etc. and can maintain original integrity of the electronics in the car. You can wire it up pretty clean too. Just osmething to consider, may save you a lotta $

I looked at a bluetooth adapter; phone connects to the bluetooth adapter which connects to the car aux input. Not too happy with the setup since there are wires involved, phone connects to the car directly; no phone integration etc.

I am considering a 2-DIN player from JVC on Crutchfield. Here is a comparison of 4 of their models. You will find similar options with Kenwood & Pioneer also.

If you are not looking for DIY, you should be able to find similar units in Best Buy or Car Toys; I did not find a Car Toys store in your area but I'm sure there are specialist stores there.

Good luck!

All you really need is the HU, dash kit and steering wheel control module.

Look up BT45-TOY from USASPEC; provides BT phone and audio streaming for Lexus; no changes seen on the dash; everything is hidden. Works like native
