30k Maintenance $ 166- $ 561 (Yikes!)
I'm approaching 30k miles on my 08 ES 350. I called around and got prices from $ 166- $ 561.
1. Sewell of Dallas $ 561 (includes fuel induction cleaner and replace the battery of the f.o.b.).
2. Parkplace Grapevine $ 465
3. Toyota of Dallas $ 450 (includes fuel injection cleaner).
4. JP Importz $ 427
5. Toyota of Irving $ $ 379 (includes no injection, if so, addl $99).
6. Davenport Motor Company $ 281
7. European Auto Tech $ !66
Any suggestions as to who to go to based upon past experience? Any other recommendations? What services are needed at 30k and which can i do without. I'm very good about maintaining my car and have done all the required maintenance up to this point.

I think this is listed in your owners manual. (check for a small manual that has the service checklist) These should be an Easy DIY.
I was reading all the manuals last night and If I recall correctly there is just an oil / filter change, tire rotation, road check, and inspection of other parts. maybe some cabin filters too. You can do that for sub $100.

I had the 3yr/30K service done on my '07. The dealership did everything on the list and it was $300 ($298 actually). It even included replacing the brake fluid.
I wasn't going to have it done but I hadn't had the car in for any warranty, TSIB or service work so I figured I'd do it and have something in the service records for the car.

Did not have the 30,000 miles service by the Lexus dealer but have done the services listed
at my local garage for $160. Included Mobil One oil / cabin filter / tire rotation (every oil change), top off all fluids and fuel injection cleaner / dry gas (again done at every oil change). Batteries in both key fobs did last year.

I need a 30000 miles service done soon for my 08 ES350, I just called to Lexus, and my dealer at San Antonio said the cost would be $362.48. I guess not bad for a Lexus dealer right?

I've been thinking over and over again, should I take my car to get it done at Toyota instead? Toyota dealer is 15 mins away, and Lexus dealer is 3 hrs away. Beside, 30000 miles service: Replace Engine oil somewhere can be done for $50.00, tire rotation can be done for $50.00, Measure thinkness I don't think i need this, replace air conditioner filter, I can do this myself for less than $20, and replace brake fluid can be done for $30 I guess, replace engine air filter would be $60 for K&N air filter, i don't need te Visually inspect brake pads and rotors, road-test vehicle I do it 6 days a week. Well, I estimated around $210.00 vs $362.48. But is there any different having my car service in Lexus dealer, since I never taken to anywhere else for a service beside Lexus dealer.

It might not hurt to check out a couple of dealerships online. Sometimes they offer "service specials" where you can save a few bucks off the cost of some services. The two dealerships that I deal with around here often do it.
Good luck on your decison on where to go.

I believe that there is a difference but what you have to ask is what that difference is worth to you. You of course do pay for that difference.

So long as you have documentation that the service was done at prescribed mileage / time levels (for possible warranty claim or lease return, you can get the work done at any garage / repair facility. We were talking about this at my local garage. A Mercedes Benz owner had his leased car serviced at this local garage at the prescribed times (was much cheaper). When he turned in his Benz after the lease expired, the dealer sent him an invoice for $800 to perform the services not done at the dealership but were prescribed. He took his copies of the service receipts to the dealership and they cancelled the invoice. Documentation is everything.

Time is money for you guys who are working so if you can afford it then look for the lowest price but make sure you shop around. Being retired I usually do all of my own work and keep my service records on a spreadsheet. The only benefit you get by going to the dealer is the dealer service record. If you look at the maintenance book these services are not a big deal unless you don't have the tools or the skills.By the way the 30K quote for my 33 year old Ferrari was $2800 ( you would choke if you saw a new one). I just laughed.
