Default 2010 ES350 and XM NavTraffic

I've had my ES 350 for a little over 5 weeks. I called XM and made sure that the complimentary Music, Weather and NavTraffic were enabled. I have checked for the subscriptions on line and all are there. I a nit receiving any NavTraffic info. Today I had them send "hit" today while I was on may way home from work. Still no NavTraffic info. I just spent 45 minutes in my car with my laptop and had a "hit" sent again but still no NavTraffic info.

The icon on the map screen is black with white symbols. I am assuming this means no NavTraffic info is being received. I know that XM traffic works in my area, Philadelphia, New Jersey burbs, because I had an '08 Infiniti G35X and subscribed to XM traffic and had traffic info.

Do I have to some how select an area or something?

The icon you see means no info relevant to streets that are part of your computed route have traffic jams, and no severe weather conditions nearby exist.

To see if the traffic info is being received, zoom out a bit and scroll to a major highway and look for a green, red, or orange line running next to it indicating traffic conditions. If a road is marked as such, you are getting traffic info. Traffic info is not available for most roads - just for major routes. Alternatively, try to view stocks or weather reports on your system (there should be an "info" screen that lets you access those). IIRC, they are all part of the XM data subscription.

Here is an update. I am receiving NavTraffic from XM. The problem I had was I was use to my Infiniti G35 in that when I pressed the "Traffic" button on the screen I would receive a list of traffic info. The Lexus just shows traffic icons on the screen. As YotaCarFan stated I needed to zoom the map out to see the icons and colored highlights on the map screen.
