New Gas Pedal
Has anyone got a new smaller revised gas pedal after complaining about the hacked shaved look? Can you post a picture and any TSB numbers associated with the part?

I haven't heard of anyone getting a new pedal. My modified pedal is fine so I probably won't bother getting a new one unless I think of it when the car is in for service or something, and they are actually available..

Toyota Statement on Replacing Accelerator Pedals
Some news accounts have misinterpreted a letter sent by Toyota to its dealers regarding an improved parts ordering process for accelerator pedals to suggest that this represents a change in Toyota’s policies regarding the remedies for its recent recalls.
Toyota is confident that the remedies it has announced to address sticking accelerator pedals and floor mat entrapment represent a comprehensive solution to these issues. However, if a customer is not satisfied with the modification to his or her repaired accelerator pedal, dealers will replace it at no charge.
This policy was included in Toyota’s Defect Information Reports (DIR) filed with NHTSA in November regarding floor mat entrapment and in February regarding sticking accelerator pedals and is also contained in the official owners letters for those recalls.

I requested a new pedal by calling Lexus Customer Service. It took talking to a supervisor, but she finally agreed to approve the new pedal. CS checked with my dealer to see if the part was in stock. It was, so I made an appointment and took my car in for the 5000 mile service on 5/21 and had the new pedal installed, along with the rest of the recall items.
These are the part numbers relating to the accelerator replacement:
58571-33010 PAD, FR FLOOR, FR
78118-41010 STOPPER, ACCELERA
04009-51233 PEDAL ASSY, ACCELE
Got my car back with a full tank of gas and the service department did a first class job. I took delivery of my car in October, 2009 and find it strange that I still have not received a recall notice from Lexus.

The reason I am asking if there are other ES350 owners who have not received a recall notification, is when I had mentioned that to both Lexus Customer Relations and my dealer, they seemed surprised. I would think that with all the bad press, Lexus would have mailed out the notifications very quickly. Like most CL members, I feel there was a slim chance to none that I would have an unintended acceleration problem, but if the news media would be aware that Lexus has still not sent out notifications, they would have a field day.

Here you go. Just had it installed last week. I simply went to my dealer and stated I didn't like the look of the shaved pedal.

Pedal looks good, but the carpet looks terrible. It looks like someone with a very shaky hand cut it.

After I saw that I went out and looked. Mine is chopped up like that also but don't notice it unless I am out of the car and get eye level to the pedal. Wondering if I should complain and if it would do any good? Thanks Dorothy
