2008 es350 vs new ??
Hi all,
New member here.. I've been lurking for awhile, and am now making my first post...
I am in the market for a different 4 door sedan for our growing family.
I have found a 2008 ES350, nav, lux package, Mark Lev sound system, etc.
Since the price on each is pretty close within 5k of each other, would you have anything to say over this car, vs. a new one without the lux package, but with nav ??
What is your opinion ? Used with all the goodies, or new?
Thanks in advance !!

I had an 07 for nearly 4 years which I really liked. Bought a 10 in late-January and like the new one even better.
They made some small changes/refinements since the 07 and all together they add up to an even better car.
If the price is that close between an 08 and 10 I'd opt for the 10.

purch 2010 in March....had 04 prior so cant compare 08....but the new look is impressive...added chrome on bottom helps break up sedan look...much has been discussed on great improvements of overall nav, bluetooth and my fav option is Lexus Enform....simply call lexus and mention business or location or type of place your looking for and they will download instantly into your nav.
1st yr is free..subcription thereafter to continue service, xm radio is very nice also....musictype...sports..etc.
last... Lexus last 2 mos has been offering 2.9 & 1.9 int so that alone should make up big chunk if you are financing
good luck !

But, this past March i swapped my '07 IS for a '10 IS250AWD and got a '10 ES350 for the wife. I much prefer the newer user intrerface. I especially like being able to swap functions on screen instead of using the console buttons and the ipod/usb function is a big plus. I have a 16gb usb stick plugged into each car (in the 350 I also added a 6" extension cable because of the angle of the usb connector) which gives me hours of music!

I have a 09 and if I was in your situation I would go for the 2010. I almost traded up my 2009...but I couldn't justify the extra costs. Ride is the same, but the upgraded Nav is big plus. I still overall prefer the look of the 07-09, especially the front grille and fog lights. I'm not that persuaded with the chrome and added wood inside, but it doesn't hurt and I could live with it.

Catching back up
Well, I pulled the trigger last weekend (pictures coming)
I bought the 2008 White ES350 with 2.9% financing.
It had 24k miles on it, with the ultra lux extras, plus the in headrest DVD screens and chrome wheels. Its my first Lexus I have ever owned, and wow.. is it different than my Infiniti G37 coupe. This whole week, I was thinking, "oh hell.. what have I done??".. It's not a BAD car compared to the Infiniti, just DIFFERENT. Its going to take alot of getting used to.
The ride is very very soft, and the suspension is alot softer than the coupe.. But, I will get used to it, and I traded, to take one for the team, since our family needed the extra room. I just wonder if the IS might have been a better fit, compared with what I was used to ??
I will post some picts soon

The IS probably would be a closer driving experience to your G37 coupe, but if you were looking for room for the family it's not the car. The back seat is tiny.
Are the headrest screens aftermarket?
Good luck adjusting to the ES.

I came an ES 350 from performance cars and coupes like a C5 Corvette etc. The Lexus will grow on you if you give it a chance. I can travel just as fast on real roads as any one else in their high performance car. Give it a chance and enjoy the ride, soon you will wonder why you wanted " sports car handling" and a 500hp engine!
