Since I have several mixed tapes it doesn't bother me at all.

You could tape record your wife/gf beautiful nagging voice and play it on your cassette player just for good training when you come home late at night working overtime paying for the near perfect Lexus you have, hehehe.

I think every ES 350 sold in California has in-dash 6 disc mp3 as standard.

Still have quite a library of music, etc. on cassettes, I'm not going to re-buy them on another media. I hope they keep them around a bit longer.

I digitized all my valuable cassettes into MP3 format (or make WAV and burn a CD).
Just connect a decent cassette player to "line in" of the computer and record.
Simple audio editor, like Adobe Audition, can even clean up hissing and give you a little extra treble tones.

My '07 Premium with NAV (no ML) has the cassette. I've used it to listen to tapes of conference speakers several times.

I suspect my next car won't have the same capacity.

Why the '07 still had the cassette? I don't know for sure but it seems to have been a carryover...the LS 460 debuted before the ES 350 and it did not have the cassette player.
