Just bought a 2009 ES 350 with the Navigation Premium Package, which includes the Lexus Premium Sound System (not Mark Levinson).

Looking through the included Owners Manual, it says that you can play DVD movies by having the car parked and parking brake on (I think). Tried 3 different DVD's (original and burned ones) through the CD slot. Nothing happens. The screen just shows that a disc has been accepted into the 6 disc changer, but cannot hear or see movie, and cannot access DVD movie navigation buttons.

My question is can you view movies with the Navi Premium Sound System or do you need Mark Levinson System.

Please tell me what am I doing wrong?

Only Mark Levinson (ML) can play DVDs...

how much would it be to swap the audio systems with a ML?

It's probably easier to add a complete aftermarket system than it is to change to an ML system. I've seen used ML amps on Ebay for $1,200. I upgraded my base audio system to a double DIN Pioneer for $800. And that includes upgrading the door speakers, adding a sub and sub amp. Just going with a double DIN DVD player will cost you $125 for the mounting kit, $80 for the PAC adapters and the whatever it costs for a head unit with 4v pre-amp outputs.
