Default Front License Plate Bracket

Hi, did anyone get a front license plate bracket for their car and are not planning on mounting it? I need one for my car and the dealer is wanting to charge an arm and a leg.
I thought someone might want to get rid of theirs if it will never get used.
Thanks.

Did you look in your spare tire well? Usually they are tucked away there.

That's insane. Your car should have come with one. Mine did. And if your state requires a front plate it is the dealers responsibility to provide it.

Its not in the spare tire compartment. Also my state does not require a car tag on the front just the back end. I wanted to put a personalized tag on the front.
I suppose Lexus is cutting corners and saving $$ and only puts a plate holder in cars with state laws that require a front tag.

What is a piece of plastic really worth maybe $5.00 at the tops?

Not True - I'm in Arizona, No Front Plate required. Bought my wife's ES in November and my F in December. Both came with came with front license plate holders in the trunk. Your dealer owes you one. But, why would you want to screw up the clean lines of the ES with a plate when state law doesn't require one When I lived in California, I drove there for 23 years without a plate in front. Only got one fix-it ticket in all that time.

Did you buy your car new? If it's pre-owned, maybe the original owner got rid of it. In either case, if you got the car from a dealer, they should provide one to you at no cost.

I bought it used from a non Lexus dealer. The original owner must have removed the tag and plate holder and left those two ugly holes in the bumper. I wanted to cover the holes up with a plate holder instead of getting them bondoed up and repainted.

Ok, that makes sense. But why mess up the front end of the car with a bracket? Surely you can find some plugs to fill the holes. Then paint them prior to installation. That will look far better than a plate!

Aerotect sells bumper plugs, they should fit the holes in your bumper!

My ES350 loaner front plate sits on some ugly black plastic thing, kind of looks like it was designed for a wider European plate or something.
