Default Sun Roof Wind Noise

When I open the inner shade to my sunroof I get a wind noise? Anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to eliminate the wind noise other than keeping the inner shade closed. Thanks.

I get that wind noise too, but for me its noticeable on the highway driving like 75-80 mph. I just close the sunroof shade.

Yeah, I hear it too, but only when I get above a certain speed. I just close the shade as well.

Of my cars that have had moonroofs, they all do that. Glass is glass. Even Lexus can't magically make standard glass more soundproof.

They can put one of those acoustic-windshield glass panels there! Oops, nobody wants to pay for it.

Jagtoes & Superchan,
Thanks for your response. I get the noise at 25 mph onward. If you are getting the windnoise at higher speeds I will reask the dealer to look at it. I'd be happy if I only heard it at 70 +.
Thanks again. The quest continues. JMJS49

I had the same sun roof wind noise problem. I took it to my dealer and they fix it by replacing several parts.

I know this is an older post but this is the problem for me as well. It makes the wife unhappy to close the shade and the noise tells me that something is not sealed right - especially for a 'luxury' car.

The dealer told me that he had never heard of this issue and asked if it was leaking (it is not). He said to try lubing the weather strip. I said I knew that Saturn sun roof drains had a slitted cover that was in place to help with wind noise from there but he doubted that that could be the source. However when my wife talked to him the next day about the issue he said it could be from there...

At any rate if you are still an owner and are participating here or anyone else who might know, what parts were/would likely be replaced to help with this condition?

Thanks for your attention
