Default DVD navigation 07 ES350

Want to hear something funny? My 07 ES350 DVD navigation location has been off by at least 300 feet for months. Yes, location calibrated properly. The problems are intermittent occuring at least once a day. One example is showing my location on an access road next to the interstate. Another is showing my location in the grass around 300 plus feet away while I was at a stop light at an intersection. I proceeded through the intersection and the location jumped back to it's correct position. Thankfully, I have it on my cell phone video which I had to show the dealership as it wasn't acting up when driving with the technician. The dealership found no error codes during diagnosis to warrant TSIB fix for this know problem and stated they will have to contact the company of the DVD to find out what can be done. I am assuming even if they do use the "old" upgraded disk for know TSIB that it will not correct the issue since there was no error codes upon diagnostic check. I get a call from my service consultant who states that the only way to fix it is to buy the $350 new upgrade. Sure, I will spend $350 to correct an issue that is under warranty and clearly Lexus's problem. Needless to say I have an appointment with the area supervisor in the morning. In addition, I am also discussing the issue on the motor mount vibration that is still a problem even after completing the TSIB. I am less likely to push the motor mount issue since the vibration is close to the same as other cars on the lot but will stand dead firm on the navigation problem. Can you believe this?

Yes, I can believe it. You are getting the same dealer run-around that many of us have experienced.

Push for either a new disk or new unit. Something ain't right. You should not have to drop $350 to fix this issue.

Good luck.

I had the same problem that was corrected. My dealer ordered a special disc which corrected the software in the nav unit. This updated disc was supplied under a TSIB to correct this problem....it didn't upgrade the mapping though. Since then though, I have upgraded to the most current mapping.
