short ram or cold air intake for es350??

My brother have the same engine that we have in his Camry... He ordered a K&N short ram and it's great!! I don't think there is any diffrence between our engine and the Camry's engine except the few extra covers...

cold air for the camry V6, don't know if anything is different but I think the GS350 at 1 time did not have an intake until someone bought an IS350 intake and realized it fit perfect, I would call the company and see if you could return it in the slight chance it does not fit, Fujita is pretty cool, nice guys to deal with

Anyone willing to be the first to install this? Maybe it will help with the hesitation issue with the ES. Here is the KN site with install instructions:

i went ahead and purchased an v6 camry intake and i installed it today. i'm very satisfied with it thus far. the only thing is that the check engine light is coming on. i heard that after the car adapts to the intake it should go away. is that true? or is it something i should worry about?

Sometimes the intake can be louder than the exhaust. That is the case with my RX300. Intakes really don't do much by themselves, especially a short ram intake. One needs to add a lower air intake to the bumper or cooler areas, but with the ES350, it is almost impossible, barring some serious modification, to ad the ram air intake to let area come in directly from the outside to the air intake tube, which is what I use on my RX.
However, the real gains for the dollar come from a direct flow exhaust, but that can have an effect on your investment (your car) should you ever go to resell it.

I am not aware of any that is a direct bolt on for the ES350/V6 Camry. Usually what has to be done is just weld an aftermarket one on. That is what I have done over the years with my RX300 (and I am not done yet with modifications). Most exhaust shops can take a look and will know what to go with. Most of the time, I have found people putting Magnaflows on vehicles where a normal exhaust package is not available.

Could be that the vehicle is learning and that is the reason for the shakes, a.k.a. ECU learning. I generally pull the battery cables off for a few minutes and then put them back on let the vehicle learn from scratch.
