The ES 350 is my 3rd Lexus..I have had a SC400 which I loved and traded in for an ES330 which was a much different car from the SC400. The ES330 was a nice car with no big issues except for the transmission that would shift and jerk sometimes which drove me crazy. Several times to the dealer and the issue never went away so then the ES350 was out and I really liked the look. Test drove and was hooked. Dealer had just received the color I wanted with the pkg I wanted so I was sold. Car was amazing...but then had some transmissions issues when cold and the rattles in the dash and rear window deck area. Several trips to the dealer and long story short is that I have had no trans issues or rattles anymore. Even with the previous issues I love this car. Nice power, great A/C in the summer (Texas) and the air cooled seats are great. So many people think I have the LS 460 with self parking! Good luck to you and sorry to hear about wrecking the ES300 and glad you are ok!

That is interesting. Many have thought my ES is actually a GS. So, ES, GS, LS, I guess they all look the same to some.

I've had my ES350 for 11 months now and I really like it. If I had a choice to buy all over again, I would definitely get the ES again. This time with the UL package.

A list of cars I would consider.
1. Lexus ES350 UL pk
2. MB C350 or BMW 335
3. Hyundai Genesis
4. Infinity G37 or Cadillac 08 CTS or IS 350
5. Lexus GS

Drove home my new 2008 Smoky Mica ES350 Ultra Luxury/ML/Sirius Wednesday night. So far, so good (only drove ~40 miles before I had to leave for a business trip Thursday night)

Thanks for the help and advice!

I love the ES350 my family has. It is the best and one of the most comfortable cars I have ever driven. the car should last 15 years easily.

Default I love my Lexus

Had it for almost 4 months now. Actually still excited before and during each drive. No problems so far . I am babying it though, only 1800 miles so far. Do plan to get it out more once the salt is off the streets and pot holes filled here in N.W. Indiana.

I feel your pain regarding the potholes! I'm not too far from NW Indiana, and I've never seen the roads around here in such bad condition. I hate to take the car on some of them, but it's holding up nicely after nearly two years (22 months) without any rattles or creaks.

Only been back to the dealer twice. Once for the complimentary 5,000 service, and once for a complete detailing which was included with the sale.

Hey nelsjay. I did reply to your message on the other Lexus forum. (JGTNewLexusOwner). Good to see you are in both like me. As you can see, several in this forum went through what I did to pick the ES. Now, so far, I haven't had any major issues. The only ones is the "slight" transmission things (I have gotten used to them and they actually help in certain road conditions) and the inside "creaking"/windshield ticking. The creaking/ticking only happens when the outside temperature is in the 20s or below (funny thing...). When it is warm, no noise. Going to have the dealer check at the 5000 mile check. Good luck in your search and let us know what you buy!

FYI, there is a TSIB on the windshield tick noise. Good luck!

Default The longer I own it

The longer I own the Es350 the more I am convinced that it is the most disappointing car purchase I have ever made. Its not thats its a real dog but rather how far it fails to meet expectations. My latest problem is that sometimes when I leave work at night my dash lights dont come on other times the dash light come on but the tranny lights don't. Even had a couple times when the driving lights didnt come on. Boy is that scary- You dont notice it in a well lighted parking lot and then you hit the street and cant see a thing. In all the cases above If I cut the car off and restart it all is well.
Of course it wont do it at the dealership. Anyone else had a similar problem?
