Default MY ES350 on 20's

Hey folks, I wanted to share my ride with you. I noticed on the 22's thread, it got a little out of control towards the end.

I just wanted to throw this up here, not to cause any more tension, but to share some ES350 photos plain and simple.

Cool

First generation that can fit 20's and really pull it off IMO. Looks fine to me.

Now you need to be the first person to find some Toyota big brakes that'll work! lol! ES brakes are powerful, but those rims just dwaaaaarf those 11.65" & 11.06" rotors!

L-rod it's a picture stored in an adobe pdf.

OK I see them now. Lookin' good! I love the color of your car. Nice choice of rims. I don't think it looks bad at all. Congrats!

Cool

lowrider if you want to post pictures on forums, you need to sign up for a picture hosting site. pdf's don't cut it.
Photobucket, Imageshak, etc.

Then you can use the IMG (image) tags so that they show up in your post.
I'll give you a day to download them off my photobucket & you can host them where you want.

Wow, Ok Es needs some help with rims. Looking at the pictures seems all 20”s have a large gap. For the ES I think when installing 20”s you should use a tire with more side wall to take up the gap to a point where it looks pretty good. If your using NAV MAP 6.1 you may have the program called “recalibrate” (I have it in the GS) it’s used to recalibrate your tire size correctly for use in NAV and so on. What do you guys think???

Tell me if I'm wrong, but if you get a tire with a larger sidewall on a larger wheel, the circumference will be larger, so your speedometer and odometer will give you inaccurate readings. I know you can recalibrate the NAV to compensate, but what about the rest?

Looks pretty good. I didn't think the EXE Wheels would work on an ES, they have aggressive fitments. Now the car needs a drop.

springs are comin!! i just got these rims installed yesterday and i wanted to see, personally, how they looked before considering springs.

thx for the comments!! pros, cons, whatever...

anyone know the best place for compatable drop kits for our rides??

hey oso:

these are 245/35/20 tires. You can believe me when i say i tried my best to get some 40 series on there but there would have been a much greater chance of rub.

right now there is no rub at all, first thing i did after they tightened the last lug was get on the street and made the tightest uturn ever, no rub.

i also had my buddies with me to help me test the "weight" factor and still no rub and no problems.

thx again folks for checkin it out!!

The rims look terrific!

amf1932 - the 245/35-20 is only marginally taller than the stock 215/55-17. Most 'plus' sizing involves matching the overall diameter as closely as possible. What this means to the look is more rim, less sidewall. Unfortunately, as mentioned, it also leads to the illusion of more gap in the wheel wells..even in this case when there is actually a bit less.

Anyway, if you're ever curious about matching tire diameters, here's a great site: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

More so than the diameter, I'm impressed that 245's fit without rubbing. Lowrider, would you mind sharing the width and offset specs on the rims?

It looks good. The wheels look a little IS-ish to me.

Dang...don't tell me that you're starting to contemplate--even if just a wee bit--getting dubs for the wifey's ride?

(vroomvroom)

The range for our car is 35+ to 45+.
The rim size on my car is 20 x 9 with a 35+ offset.

The tires I went with are the Falken 452's. Pretty quiet and a good feel. No change on any braking, accelerating, etc.

They wanted to put on some Nitto's Neogen/NT555 but I've heard some bad reviews from friends and other websites.

I wanted to get some Michellin's but the add on price was significantly more so I went with the Falken's.
