Question Tire Pressure Monitor Light

The stupid orange tire pressure warning light will not go off after repeated checks of all 5 tires. Anybody know of a quick reset to avoid having to spend 2 hours of my Saturday at the dealer?

Thx

Press and hold the tire presusre reset button under the dash to the right of the steering wheel. There are two buttons there, just to the right of the LED. The tire pressure reset button is the one on the left.

I held the button down for about 30 seconds a couple of times. The light blinked but then went back to solid and stayed on. Any ideas?

hey there PaJaHa. Have you tried checking the tire pressure on the spare tire? I checked all my 4 tires but didn't check the spare tire and the light refused to turn off. Only when I checked and pump the proper pressure on the spare tire and press the reset button, then the light turn off.

This happened on my wife's previous Sienna. After the light kept coming on, she took the car to a service station. She actually did have a nail in one of the tires and it had a very small leak.

Are you sure all of your tires are actually ok? It seems the system is very sensitive.

Also, the tire pressure monitor, which is located above the headliner towards the rear, may be defective. There is a TSB on it for rattles, but not for malfunction. May want to have that checked also.

well he said he checked all "5" tires... i am guessing you may have a bad sensor in one of your tires (happened to me) thats not providing data.. in that case you have no choice but to bring it to service and have them find out which sensor is bad and have it replaced.

Dreyfus,

The two buttons you refer to seem NOT to be on my 2007 ES350 that has a January, 2007 build date. I cannot seem to find them. Any ideas???

Most of the space under the dashboard below the steering wheel is taken up by the kneebag airbag.

For what is the second button used? Maybe that would lead to to the location of the tire pressure reset button.

I would be surprised to see those button locations changed so soon. Check your owner's manual for the tire sensor reset button or the second, the AFS override button.

They are immediately to the right of the footwell LED at the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering wheel. If yours are elsewhere, only your owner's manual or dealer will be able to locate them.

Thanks...Dreyfus. I found both buttons and I also found the description about both buttons in the owners manual.

They were exactly where you said they would be. They have not been moved.

Are yours to the right of the steering wheel or have they been moved?

They are to the right of the steering just as you originally said. I was reaching way back under the dash and up so I reached past them. Oh dopey me!
