Default RIMS, RIMS, RIMS....Aftermarket

OK guys/gals. I need help.

Anyone have any experience with their ES on installing aftermarket rims WITHOUT mod'ing the springs and/or lowering the car?

I want to put some wider wheels/tires so that it sits flush with the wells.

I HATE the look of stock wheels/tires and want to give my ES the ever-so tougher/wider stance.

Any and all thoughts are welcome. Good or bad.

I have 19 X 8.5 Giovanna Sabina running 245/35/19 Falken 452. Have to be honest, there is quite a bit of wheel gap that you are going to want to take care of down the road (please TEIN or EIBACH answer my call).

The ride is actually better and the look is way more aggressive. I will post pics tomorrow so you can see what I mean.

The wheels I purchase are not available through Tirerack.com and I didn't like the selection offered there so I chose to go with a local custom shop.

Check the TPMS Sticky in the Wheel and Tire Forum for information on the sensors. IMO you are better off spending a few extra dollars and having a reputable shop deal with the installation rather than trying to tackle it yourself, especially if you want your TPMS to work properly once the wheels are on.

Most wheel manufacutures have started offering TPMS compatible wheels so you should be able to identify a wide selection.

Good luck.

I want to see pics lol

Anyways you should of gone with a thicker tire if you went with 19's, you could of gone by with a 40 series tire...... i would of left the 35 for a 20" rim. I think 20's look sleek on an ES350... they just look fine :]

Don't you mean that it "handles" better? I mean, w/ the much-lower profile, I would find it somewhat hard to believe that your car rides more plush w/ the 245-35-19 tires than it did w/ the 215-55-17 tires; we're talking about a 1.3" reduction in sidewall height--that much of a difference has got to adversely affect the ride somewhat...
