Default Current UL options

I am currently looking to purchase a UL with VN (Nav and Mark Levinson), but when I get quotes they include intuitive parking assist (PA) and z1 (preferred accessory package), neither of which I requested. I thought they are called options because they are optional. When pushed, one dealer said it would have to be special ordered, take 3-6 months, and no discount. I understand that in order to take certain packages like UL, you are required to select certain options but based on everything I had seen and read from Lexus, intuitive parking assist was not one.

Has anyone else encountered taking options you don't want, or at least don't want to pay for? Anyone with buying experiences in the Philadelphia market? Pricing? Any information would be helpful.

It seems that when Lexus ships UL models they more than likely have most options included. Reason being, this ES350 model is considered their flagship ES.
The fact that you want to choose "exactly" what options are included in your UL means that you'll have to wait for quite awhile, since the order has to go back to the factory in Japan, unless they can find one that was delivered to another dealer, and then your dealer can make a deal and get the car for you.

Alan is correct, if you want something outside of the box, grab a seat and wait for your special order. Otherwise, you are going to have to take what is commonly ordered.

Also, remember that you don't want a "one-off" car. Always think resale. Don't order something odd outside the box.

Default UL + Additional Option

IMO:

I purchase my UL from the showroom model, but for me it was the more the merrier, regarding the options.

But....during my search I noticed that almost all of my local dealerships (3), they all had about the same amount of added features on top of the UL. I think it's pretty normal that the dealers add those other options so that they can upsell there-and-then vs. getting a "special order" and staying firm that the discount is not available. It's a sales pitch and that's all it is.

If you have an honest dealership, you can request that the items that CAN be removed from the car be removed off of the sticker. (Accessory Package), which I think is the Cargo net, Trunk carpet, and something else. Obviously, they can't remove the Park Assist.

I got my ES350/UL just this past weekend with everything on in except the "Special Cruise Control" feature. I got it for 12% off MSRP, somewhere in the range of 46K MSRP negotiatied down to 40K. There is good room for negotiation for what they have in stock so don't let them tell you otherwise!!!

So take the MSRP off the vehicle you saw and minus the 12% and what ever that equals....STAND FIRM!!!!

Good Luck!!!!

Just bulldog them and shoot for a lower price on the ES they have.

Just my $0.02.
