New ES on the block
Hi,
We were finally able to take delivery of our new ES this afternoon. (SMG UL on black, ML Audio and, NAV)
The Guys at Herrin-Gear, in Jackson have been a pleasure to deal with. They have been very professional and have been able to answer any and all questions we had. (yes even the problems with the transmissions) Due to the amount of electronics on the car, we opted for the 8 year 75k mile extended warrenty. We even had them agree to a 100% buyback if any major faults occur.
The drive home is roughly 100 miles,so we were able to test out some of the features such as the handsfree phone, Nav and ML audio. MPG for the first 100 miles averaged around 29. This should improve once things are broke in.
First impression.....WOW. I'm generally not impressed very easily but this thing was as smooth as silk.
Now all I need is some good weather to get it detailed to my specs.
I will try and post a few pics this weekend after the rain passes and it gets cleaned up.

Congrats on the new car. Enjoy your new ride...
We just returned from a 500+ mile trip from IL to IA and back. We got 29.1 mpg on the way over driving into a fierce headwind. On the way back we had a tailwind and got 33.3 mpg, averaging about 75 mph both ways.

After reading all the issues with the ES350 I was just reluctant to get one real soon but my question here is, did you get the dealer to give you written copy stating that they would do a 100% buy back if anything major would happen to occur?
I was having a 07 ES350 loaner for a couple of days and boy I really enjoyed but I did realize the flare and the spike in RPM in that car
Other than that it was pretty quite on high speeds...

Thanks for the replies.

Everything was agreed upon before the paperwork was signed.
I guess the fact that my wife works for an Attorney didn't hurt any.
All in all, the dealership went out of their way to satisfy us.

It is nice being on the "darkside" I love the way the panaramic roof just fades into the SMG.
